Passport & Visa: Passport valid for at least six months required by all nationals. Visa require by all national except from people coming from Nepal; they require only identification.

 

Types of Visa and Cost: The following prices are for UK nationals only; prices for other nationals vary. Tourist: £30 (six months). Business: £30 (six months); £50 (one year); £90 (two years). Transit:£8 (single/double-entry). Student: £55 (irrespective of duration).

 

Foreigners holding other nationalities (other than the country where applying for visa), should submit proof of long-term (at least three years)/ permanent residence in the country (where applying). For citizen of other countries, reference has to be made to their country of residence for which an additional fee is applicable and will involve extra processing time. Please refrain from making inquiries about the status of application during this time. International Travel India


Fee Structure:

The fee structure depends on the nationality of the passport holder and type/duration of visa applied. The existing fee structure is:

  • Transit Visa 5 $
  • Visas with validity upto six months 30 $
  • Visas with validity upto one year 50 $
  • Student Visa 50 $
  • Visas with validity between one to five years 100 $

Health Care:

  • Any person (including infants over six months old) arriving by air or sea from an infected country must obtain a yellow fever certificate.
  • Following WHO guidelines issued in 1973, a cholera vaccination certificate is not a condition of entry to India.
  • Poliomyelitis is widespread. Immunization is generally recommended. Typhoid can be contracted and there have been recent reports of typhoid drug resistance.
  • Malaria risk exists, mainly in the benign vivax form, throughout the year in the whole country below 2000m excluding parts of the states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Sikkim.
  • All visitors aged between 18 and 70 years of age who are wishing to extend their visa for one year or more are required to take an AIDS test.
